Question No: 02

Group Testing

When no of subjects are tested at same time this process is called group testing.  Group testing is the administration of psychological tests such as intelligence measures, achievement measures etc. to groups of people rather than to individuals. In this method, one examiner works with no of participant simultaneously. Example of such test includes Raven’s Progressive Matrices (RPM). Apart from this some paper and pencil tests are also available for group administration.

            The main benefits of group testing is that these test are easy to administered, quick, time saving and easy to score. These are usually based on multiple choice questions. Examiner role is not important in these kinds of tests. These tests are also being taken by using computer. Group testing method is time saving but presents only overall picture rather than detailed individual profile.
