Solution
Report of General Self-efficacy(GSE) Test
1- Introduction:
Self-efficacy can be defined as what
a person thinks or perceive about his own ability to handle a difficult a
situation or to produce some desired results. The construct of self-efficacy is
used to measure the impact of such self-perception on one’s behavior. Mostly
effect of perceived self-efficacy is studied on health related behaviors.
General Self-Efficacy (GSE) Scale is the most widely used method of measuring self-efficacy. It was origin ally developed by Matthias Jerusalem, and Ralph Schwarzer in 1981, and has 20 items initially but later version consisted of only 10 items. The scale is used for predicting both coping and adaptation skills of people, how they coped with daily hassles, and how they adapted after having undergone stressful life events. This scale measures a generalized sense of self-efficacy. It indicates the overall confidence that a person has about personal ability to cope with a wide range of situations that may be new, challenging or demanding. It focus on the competence that is broad and stable.
2- Procedure
The subject was accessed through direct face to face meeting. After the formal greetings, the subject was thoroughly briefed about the procedure and purpose of test administration that this test will be comprised of 10 items and will be used to gauge his general level of self-efficacy. Then a formal consent of subject was asked that whether he is willing to be part of this General Self-Efficacy test. After his confirmation the test was administered to subject. The subject takes almost 8 minutes to finish the test.

Scale
of General Self-efficacy has been used on subject
because
1) It was the most suitable and easy administered method to assess or
measure the overall perception level that the subject has about
his ability to cope with a wide range of situations that includes new,
challenging or demanding circumstances.
2)
We
can also analyze the impact of this measured level of perception on the subject
behavior.
